My name is Jana Cooper and I am the Owner and Photographer of Nevesta Boudoir. I've been doing photography for 20 years, but only started the Nevesta Boudoir brand in 2018. Before doing boudoir I was actually a Court Manager and Wedding Photographer on the side. I heard about boudoir from one of my brides, but initially did not understand the significance. I had this idea in my head that it was just sexy photos a woman takes for someone else.
After that initial shoot, I thought it would be an interesting experience to do a boudoir shoot, but never thought I would become so passionate about it. I decided to do a little more research on boudoir and realized that there is more to boudoir than meets the eye. When I saw my bride light up when she saw her photos, it all clicked in place for me.
Boudoir isn't for someone else. Of course, it can be a gift for a significant other, but first and foremost, it is a confidence building experience for my client. She is able to see herself as the beautiful, strong, independent woman that the rest of us see. I saw the confidence and sparkle she wore. My bride exuded a self-love that I had never seen from her before. I learned that boudoir is more than just photos. It is a complete mindset shift in how she viewed herself. It was such an honor to be a part of helping her see what the gorgeous and strong woman the rest of us see in her.
